Longacre Stables & School of Horsemanship

Longacre Stables & School of Horsemanship offers Hilander Pony Club, Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), Rails 'n Tails 4-H Club, Longview Parks & Recreation sessions, private or group lessons, half-lease horse options, and volunteer or working student opportunities. The program teaches dressage, jumping, western riding, and other disciplines, and it offers beginner to advanced instruction. Longview Parks & Recreation sessions are three 1-hour sessions offered quarterly and cost $75 per session.

Programs

• Hilander Pony Club — USPC is a national educational program focused on both mounted and unmounted horsemanship skills. Members must have access to a horse. Partial cost of lessons included in annual riding fees.
• Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) — grades 4-12 · Membership is open to all students in grades 4-12. No rider needs to own a horse. Riders compete in dressage and/or hunt seat disciplines.
• Rails 'n Tails 4-H Club — Meets unmounted 1-2x/mo. · Education and competitions; optional participation in fairs, local shows, record books, public speaking, quiz and horse judging. Horse care required for Fair. Horseless Horse program also available.
• Longview Parks & Recreation — Three 1 hr sessions offered quarterly · $75 per session · Learn beginning to intermediate horsemanship skills. Course can be repeated as many times as you like. Sign up online through Longview Parks and Rec.
• Lessons/Private or Group — By arrangement · Private or class lessons. Beginner to advance level offered.
• Half-Lease Horse
• Volunteer / Learn as You Go / Working Student

About the provider

Longacre Stables & School of Horsemanship is family owned and operated for 40 years. Donna G. Longacre is the owner and riding instructor, with more than 40 years of experience teaching, judging, and training. The program says it specializes in dressage as a foundation for all riding disciplines. Donna is a USDF Silver Medalist and has a Riding Master Certificate, a Bachelor of Equestrian Science, and a USET scholarship for dressage study in Europe.

Basic to advanced instruction in dressage, jumping and western riding styles is provided. Lessons, training, sale horses and boarding are offered. Beginner to advance level lessons are offered. Dressage, jumping, western, and other disciplines are taught.
