Seattle Junior Hockey Association offers youth hockey and organized tryouts. The program includes specific tryouts such as the 2026 Dev Rep Tryout Schedule for 10UA Mets, 10UA Red Hawks, and 10UB teams.
• Schedule: SJHA Hockey Office Hours are Monday–Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and the 2026 Dev Rep Tryout Schedule includes sessions on Friday July 31st from 5:45–6:45 pm, Saturday August 1st from 11:30 am–12:45 pm, and Sunday August 2nd from 11:30 am–12:45 pm.
• Price: A $25.00 fee will be added to all walk up registrations.
The leadership team includes Marty Rubin as Hockey Director, Ian Armstrong as Associate Athletic Director, Annie Smyth-Hammond as Girls Hockey Director, and Lisa Menzl as Office Administrator and Registrar. Seattle Junior Hockey Association states that it prides the transparency, fairness, and thoughtfulness built into its tryout process and does not have “cuts” because it believes all players should have as many chances as possible. The program states that it does not force registrations on families and is dedicated to writing feedback for any player or goalie who requests it. All players who are registered for tryouts, whether present or absent, are considered with Seattle Junior’s Core Values in mind, and players are placed on teams that are described as best for their development. SJHA does not announce coaches, cost, or any other information until all teams have finished their current seasons. All SJHA tryouts are open to players from any association, and no season registration will precede tryouts. Registration prices vary depending on the division and must be paid before the start of tryouts, and players who cannot attend the scheduled tryout dates must still register and pay prior to the event dates and contact SJHA staff about their absence. USA Hockey Registration is required to register for any tryout. SJHA is supported by the 220th Street Bingo!.
