About
PNW Junior Academy offers weekly 2-hour golf classes that include golf instruction, tournament preparation, and both indoor and outdoor training. Participants receive outdoor instruction on grass tees, in a short game area, and through on-course instruction, as well as indoor instruction that uses Trackman data, slow-motion video analysis, putting practice, and fitness work.
• Schedule: Spring season runs January–May and Fall season runs September–December, with weekly 2-hour classes
• Price: $200 initiation fee (one-time); $385/month for 1/week training (8 hrs/month); $700/month for 2/week training (16 hrs/month or two family members)
The program uses state-of-the-art facilities equipped with Trackman technology, high-speed video analysis, and cloud storage for swing videos, test results, and screencasts. Instruction includes a comprehensive curriculum that covers golf fundamentals, advanced techniques, and tournament preparation with mental conditioning and on-course strategies, and also offers assistance with college placement. Participants receive 10% off equipment purchases and $25 simulator rentals (regularly $40), and can choose from multiple membership options for regular instruction and practice.
PNW Junior Academy is led by Alex Dunlop, Owner of The PNW Golf Academy. All instructors are former Division I collegiate golfers, and staff credentials include PGA Class “A” professionals, a PGA Associate working toward Class A Membership, and multiple staff members with years of competitive and professional golf experience on various tours. The stated main goal of the program is to instill a lifelong love for golf, whether as a career or recreational activity.
PNW Golf Academy has been operating since 2019. Staff achievements include Alex Dunlop being the youngest ever to win the Western Washington Chapter’s PGA Teacher of the Year, and multiple tournament titles and honors for Derek, Blake, and Jamie across events such as the Northwest Open, WA Open, Western WA PGA Player of the Year, Western WA PGA Match Play, the PNW PGA Championship, the Oregon Open, and others, as well as participation on the Asian Development Tour and DP World Tour.
Parent and adult customer feedback includes comments that instruction from Alex led to productive practice sessions and that he uses Trackman and video analysis, communicates swing concepts clearly, and makes lessons fun for both beginners and advanced golfers.
