Northwest Rockets offers year-round basketball that includes Developmental teams, AAU teams, small group training, private lessons, Skill Clinics, and an after school program. The program focuses on basketball fundamentals, skills training, mentorship, and coaching. Participants also have a connection to the Seattle Pro-Am Summer League through founder Bruce Cooper’s playing experience there.

Northwest Rockets was founded by Bruce Cooper, a former professional basketball player who has 15+ years of coaching experience. Bruce Cooper previously played professionally overseas in China, Romania, Uruguay, and Mexico, and he now focuses his time on Northwest Rockets and coaching local school programs. The mission of Northwest Rockets is to incorporate the fundamentals of basketball in everything they do, with the goal of mastering the basics and the mindset that “Every Minute Matters” in helping players grow and building teamwork and a lifelong love for the game.
Rising Rockets is an after school program offered at select schools in the Greater Seattle Area that introduces children to basketball fundamentals. Participants in Rising Rockets develop individual and team skills as a foundation for future play.
Parent feedback includes comments that the program has “great coaches” with “lots of focus on development (vs winning)” and that players get “lots of ball time in practice and games,” with noted improvement in ball handling and confidence, as shared by Quang N. Another parent, Brandon A, describes Coach Coop as a “proven coach and ex professional player” whose coaching and mentoring relate basketball and life for young players. A third parent, Rich E, states that Coach Cooper and staff “work on fundamentals, physical & mental conditioning, and make it fun,” and “highly recommend them.”
