Campers work on pieces like narwhals, jellyfish, whales, lions, bears, mountains, trees, animals, birds, and bold pop art portraits while learning about pop artists and practicing painting and drawing techniques.

• Ages: 10–18 years old
• Schedule: Multi-day summer camp sessions, including morning camps from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM and additional week-long sessions in July and August

Willow Heath Summer Art Camps are led by Willow Heath, an artist, illustrator, storyteller, watercolor artist, and art instructor. Willow Heath is a watercolor artist and illustrator who has been exhibiting paintings in galleries and museums since 1996 and instructing art courses throughout the Seattle area since 2000. The camps continue a 20+ year summer art camp teaching tradition in which Willow teaches only youth during the summer. Each camp is uniquely designed and combines step-by-step instruction, skill building, and inspirational prompts. Willow has gained a reputation in many Seattle schools as a storytelling artist, and the teaching style is described as relaxed and full of humor, storytelling, questions, and guided narration while channeling an inner Bob Ross.

Willow instructs courses at Gage Academy of Art, Pratt Fine Art, Coyote Central, and many other Seattle schools and museums. Willow Heath Summer Art Camps were awarded Best Online Arts Education Program of 2020 by 6Crickets.com and Parents Choice Best Art Program of 2021 and 2022 by 6Crickets.com. Willow’s mission is to create paintings from personal inspirations and to guide students through the building blocks to reflect their own inspirations, with curricula that include both inspirational and technical qualities in the creative process and a focus on providing students with a solid foundation to express their artistic visions.
