Willow Heath Summer Art Camps are led by Willow Heath, a watercolor artist, illustrator, and art instructor. Willow has been exhibiting watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings in galleries and museums since 1996 and has been instructing art courses throughout the Seattle area since 2000, teaching painting courses to adults and youth for over 25 years. The program’s mission states that Willow designs curricula that reflect both inspirational and technical qualities within the creative process and aims for a welcoming studio environment for beginners and skilled artists. Willow instructs courses at Gage Academy of Art, Pratt Fine Art, Coyote Central, and many other Seattle schools and museums. The program has received several awards, including best online arts education program of 2020 from 6Crickets, parents choice best art program of 2021 and 2022 from 6Crickets, a 2020 Best Picture Book nominee and runner up for Washington State, and a 2025 Gold Winner IPPY award for the plant-based cookbook “Seconds.” Willow has gained a reputation in Seattle schools as a storytelling artist and brings Alaskan adventures into the camps through stories and lived experience in the art world.
