Spokane Northeast Youth Center is a nonprofit, state-licensed facility that provides safe, affordable childcare and transportation for children ages 3–12, including programs during spring break, winter break, and summer. All NEYC Camps are licensed and are state licensed through the Department of Youth Services. The vehicle fleet is inspected daily and equipped with certified booster seats, and the center provides safe transportation to and from school. State pay is accepted for camps, immunization records are required, and children must be potty trained. Children must arrive daily by 9:00 AM and return from field trips by 4:30 PM for camps, and the Summer Adventure Camp is closed on all federal holidays. Spokane Northeast Youth Center reports having cared for 5,000 children, served more than 35,000 meals, taken 416 field trips, and provided 185,000 hours of recreation.

Spokane Northeast Youth Center has been making a difference in the lives of children and serving the Hillyard community since 1971. Throughout the year, it provides a variety of special events for children in the community, and the Building Brighter Futures Fundraiser is designed to raise money for low-income, at-risk youth in the community.

The mission of Spokane Northeast Youth Center states that all children deserve a place where they feel safe, welcome, and celebrated, and that it offers a home away from home with meals, caring adults, and fun activities so that children are cared for and parents are supported.

Parent testimonials describe the staff as treating children with compassion and respect, and say that families feel their children are loved and cared for when they cannot be with them. Parents report that children are safe, happy, well fed, and have made many new friends, and they credit the Northeast Youth Center with providing support during stressful times, including the pandemic. One parent notes being thankful for opportunities made possible through scholarships and says the center has been important to their family over many years.
