The Youth Development Program offers a Before and After School Program for ages 5-12 during the school year, with before-school hours from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM on Mondays, and after-school hours from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. It also offers an All-Day Summer Program for ages 5-12 from June to August, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Activities include arts and crafts, coloring, painting, draw-along, rubber band bracelet making, jewelry design, LEGO, K'nex, board games, card games, Melty Beads, reading, homework help, and Movie Friday, along with gym and park activities such as dodgeball, hockey, football, Sharks & Minnows, Capture the Flag, basketball, GaGa Ball, kick ball, soccer, baseball, batting cage, scooters, Four Square, volleyball, handball, tetherball, and foosball.

About the provider
The program’s mission is to provide kids a safe and engaging environment where they can make friends and participate in a wide range of activities, with safety, friendship, and fun listed as its three main goals. Noah Trosine is the Assistant Youth Development Manager, and Rick Harris is the Recreation and Facilities Manager. The program also includes field trips into the community, with activities such as museums, hiking, swimming, and outings around Spokane.
Affordable pricing. Accepts DCYF (Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families). Offers discounts based on family size and income. Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is closed. Children enrolled in the Before and After School Program receive priority enrollment for the Summer Program. Children attending other schools must be transported to and from West Central Community Center by their families.
