About

FC Salmon Creek Soccer Club offers recreation soccer, Academy U8–U10 soccer, and advance competition soccer that include small sided games such as 7v7 and 4v4. Players can take part in Player Developmental Academy (PDA) training, futsal or indoor soccer for some teams in winter, participation in the Portland Timbers Thorns League (PTTL), and summer tournament play.

• Ages: 7–10 years old
• Schedule: Fall season runs September–November and spring season runs February–April, with league games on Sundays and teams training one to two nights per week; optional winter training is held indoors.
• Price: There is a registration fee for academy teams, an additional fee for optional indoor winter training, and fees for summer tournament play.

The club holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, June 14th 2026, and office hours are available by appointment only. Development Team rosters typically include 10–12 players, and all Academy Team players receive at least one-third playing time per game during regular league play, with stated exceptions. FC Salmon Creek offers teams for all skill levels, from recreation to academy and advance, and its youth academy teams ultimately become part of the competitive program.

The mission of FC Salmon Creek Soccer Club states that it is dedicated to providing young soccer players with a supportive developmental environment and a constructive athletic program, with a goal of building self-confidence at all competitive levels while emphasizing cooperation, teamwork, and fair play. The club’s mission also states that participants can learn life lessons, build friendships, and experience working toward common goals, and that the development of the youngest players is considered paramount. The PDA philosophy is described as creating a happy, healthy, and fun environment that focuses on teaching technical skills, building a strong relationship with the ball, and encouraging players to express themselves and make their own decisions on the pitch through a progressive curriculum based on key developmental needs for each age group.

The recreation program is described as inclusive, welcoming players of all skill levels, using parent volunteer coaches, and emphasizing the joy of playing the game and being part of a team. The Academy Program (PDA) is described as a bridge between recreational and competitive soccer for players ages 7–10 who are looking for more competitive soccer, with players required to try out for Academy and Advance programs and then being placed on teams for their age. The club notes that small sided games are used so fewer players are on the field and players make more decisions, and that Salmon Creek has an excellent support system for its coaches.

Leadership contacts include Joe Frimpong as FC Salmon Creek Director of Coaching and Michelle Baldwin as the contact for advance and academy information. Additional listed roles include a Rec Registrar for recreational program information, a Rec Uniform Coordinator, a Rec Equipment Coordinator ([email protected]), and a Field Coordinator ([email protected]).

Players joining PDA teams and Academy Teams are required to purchase the advanced uniform kit for league play, which includes blue and white jerseys, blue shorts, a grey training shirt, and blue and white socks, and these items can be purchased from Tursi’s.
