• Price: There is a registration fee for academy teams, with additional fees for optional indoor winter training and summer tournament play.

The club’s mission states that it is dedicated to providing young soccer players with a supportive developmental environment and a constructive athletic program, with a goal of building self-confidence at all competitive levels while emphasizing cooperation, teamwork, and fair play. The Player Developmental Academy is described as a bridge program between recreational and competitive soccer that focuses on teaching technical skills, building a strong relationship with the ball, and encouraging players to express themselves and make their own decisions on the pitch in a happy, healthy, and fun environment. Development Team rosters typically include 10–12 players, and all Academy Team players are given at least one-third playing time per game during regular league play, with specified exceptions. The recreation program uses parent volunteer coaches and emphasizes the joy of playing and being part of a team, and the club offers teams at recreation, academy, and advance levels.

Players in PDA and academy league play are required to purchase an advanced uniform kit, which includes blue and white jerseys, blue shorts, a grey training shirt, and blue and white socks, available from Tursi’s. Players are required to try out each May for Academy and Advance programs, and selected players are placed on teams for their age, with small sided formats used to keep fewer players on the field and increase player decision making. The youth academy teams participate in the Portland Timbers Thorns League (PTTL), and Salmon Creek Nike Cup is listed as a sponsor. The leadership team includes Joe Frimpong as FC Salmon Creek Director of Coaching and Michelle Baldwin as the contact for Advance and Academy information.
