Since 1915, kids have relied on Camp Fire for fun and educational experiences. Camp Fire Central Puget Sound has a small full-time staff of 16, a seasonal staff size of 100, and more than 1,000 volunteers. The council functions as an autonomous entity governed by its own separate board of directors. Camp Fire Central Puget Sound is one of 60 Camp Fire Councils nationwide, and the National Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, supports the council with program resources and research.

A day camp parent shared that at drop off on the first day of camp, staff members recognized their daughter by name, greeted her, and got her settled into her group, which put her at ease and made the parent feel that Camp Fire is a place where the kids really matter. A Camp Sealth parent stated gratitude for the support and opportunity for independence and said their child loves camp and is her best self there.
