About

Youth Classes and Summer Camps (Kids College) offers summer camps that include activities in STEM, art, technology, cooking, science, and sports and fitness. All camps have limited enrollment, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be registered under their own name and birthdate, and when registering online, an account must be created for each child rather than using a parent account.

• Ages: 5–17 years old
• Schedule: Kids College office hours are Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm (Sept–June) and Mon–Thurs, 7:30am–5:30pm (July–Aug).

Kids College is for children ages 9–13, and Continuing & Community Education classes provide a college experience for kids and teens ages 5–17. Campers will not be admitted without a completed Emergency Information Form, which must be submitted at least two weeks before the start date of the child’s camp. A Liability & Photo Release Form, a Pre-Kids College Survey & Behavior Choice Contract, and any needed Early Dismissal Form or Alternate Guardian Pick-Up Permission Form are required before or during camp as specified. Participants should be prepared to show that adequate insurance coverage has been obtained from other sources, because the college does not provide insurance for possible injury during the sessions, and the program discourages the use of cell phones during Kids College.

A Welcome Letter is emailed to all registrants three weeks before the start date of Kids College. Full refunds can be granted if requested at least seven days before the first day of the program, with certain exclusions, and a 40% refund can be issued for cancellations requested at least three days before the start of the camp. If a camp is cancelled due to low enrollment, the Continuing and Community Education office will notify families and will attempt to place the camper in another camp or give a full refund. Both full and partial scholarships are available for the 2025 Kids College session based on financial need and on a first-come, first-served basis, and donations can be made to the Kids College Scholarship Fund to offer tuition assistance to students in need.

At Kids College, the stated mission is to provide a dynamic and enriching summer camp experience for children aged 9–13 and to inspire a love for learning, foster creativity, and cultivate a sense of curiosity that will last a lifetime. High school or college students can volunteer as teaching assistants for Kids College by submitting the Kids College Volunteer Teaching Assistant Form at least two weeks before the first day of camp. Walla Walla Community College, which hosts Kids College, was established in 1967 and has earned the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence Award, received a gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, and is recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution. The college states that it supports equal employment and educational opportunities regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status, or disability in accordance with specified federal and Washington State laws against discrimination, and it is located on the native lands of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla people and the Nez Perce tribe.
