Kids College is part of Continuing & Community Education at Walla Walla Community College, which was established in 1967. Walla Walla Community College has earned the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence Award, received a gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, and is recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). At Kids College, the stated mission is to provide a dynamic and enriching summer camp experience for children aged 9–13 and to inspire a love for learning, foster creativity, and cultivate a sense of curiosity that will last a lifetime.

Select Kids College programs are supported through grants and community donations, and select programs are offered at an expanded-access tuition rate supported through national grant funding and community partnerships to increase access and participation. Kids College micro-sessions have been hosted at Pioneer Middle School and led by Walla Walla Community College in partnership with local students described as local students participating.

Children must be registered under their own name and birthdate, and when registering online, a separate sign in/account must be created for each child. A Welcome Letter is emailed to all registrants three weeks before the start date of Kids College. The college does not provide insurance for possible injury during the sessions, and participants should be prepared to show that adequate insurance coverage has been obtained from other sources. Campers are not admitted to Kids College without a completed Emergency Information Form submitted at least two weeks prior to the start date, and a Liability & Photo Release Form, Emergency Information Form, and Pre-Kids College Survey & Behavior Choice Contract are required before the first day of camp. If early dismissal is needed, an Early Dismissal Form must be submitted before the day that the early dismissal is needed, and the use of cell phones during Kids College is discouraged as it is disruptive to the program.
