About
Washington Wolverines Hockey Club focuses on hockey. The program holds open tryouts for teams that will compete in the 2025–2026 HPL Winter League season.
• Schedule: Open Tryouts Mar 1, 2025
The Washington Wolverines Hockey Club is the only birthyear-based AAA program in the state that is part of the High Performance Hockey Alliance (HPL) league. HPL Hockey has a collection of the top coaches, developers and leaders in the hockey industry. Smaller team sizes mean that each player receives more individual attention during all ice sessions. The program follows a seasonal development schedule with no hockey over long weekends, a longer Christmas holiday break, and a consistent game and development ice schedule. The program encourages players to use the additional free time from a set schedule to play other sports, pursue other hobbies and interests, and spend more time with their families.
The stated goal of the Washington Wolverines Hockey Club is to provide children with the best hockey experience possible every day in a challenging and safe environment, with a focus on each child’s athletic growth and on developing them into great people, not just great hockey players. HPL teams are based throughout southern British Columbia, Vancouver Island and now Washington state. The club identifies its history as © Washington Wolverines Hockey Club, LLC 2023. One testimonial from HPL families notes that the consistency of the program scheduling has been a welcome and appreciated benefit beyond the on-ice hockey development.
