About

Joshua’s Camp Foundation focuses on supporting families during their childhood cancer journey. The program centers all efforts around the whole family, with particular attention to siblings and children navigating childhood cancer. It creates space for parents to breathe, for siblings to be seen, and for children to feel like more than their diagnosis.

Joshua’s Camp Foundation was co-founded in 2012, and the first programming took place in the fall of 2012. The foundation stems from a wish Joshua Holm made before he lost his battle with cancer in 2008. The mission of Joshua’s Camp Foundation is to support the whole family through tailored programming and to create impactful relationships with families as they navigate their personal childhood cancer journey. Its stated focus is on kids being kids, bringing enjoyment and normalcy to the family, and bringing partners and communities together. The foundation describes providing an environment of belonging, compassion, fun, relief, and practical resources, and helping families stay connected, resilient, and supported, with an emphasis that healing is stronger in a community and that when families feel supported, kids are better through treatment and beyond.

Joshua’s Camp Corporation Foundation is a non-profit community organization that brings partners and communities together. Staff provide connection with families, partners, and communities. The leadership team includes Wendy Carey as Camp Director, Katie Carey as Assistant Director, and Andrew Cseter as Foundation Director of Outreach and Partnerships. The board is chaired by Scott Trinrud, with board members Amanda Anderson, Benny Anderson, Wade Asher, Bill Bertrand, Greg Burzynski, Wendy Heffernan, Jamie Liebrandt, Hannah Ritsch, Liz Seubert, and Travis Stargardt. Cathy Finney is listed as a co-founder.
