Choo Choo ChildCare

Choo Choo ChildCare offers state licensed child care for school age children before and after school, wrap-around care for 4 year old kindergarten, a 3 year old full day child care program, and a half day preschool. During the summer, Kid’s Club programs operated by Choo Choo ChildCare offer full day child care for children ages 3–12.

Joyce Thornton founded Joyce’s Preschool and Kid’s Club programs, beginning Joyce’s Preschool in 1982 and starting the Kid’s Club program in 1997. Over the past 30 years, Joyce’s programs have grown, and in 2004 Rob Thornton established Choo Choo ChildCare, Ltd. The Kid’s Club program expanded in 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014, and by 2017 Choo Choo Child Care also offered care at additional schools. Rob Thornton has received credentials and worked as an assistant child care teacher, lead teacher, child care director, and child care administrator, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin Parkside with a Teaching License for Grades 1–9. Choo Choo ChildCare states that its purpose is to provide children with care in a safe and warm environment while parents are at work or tending to other personal business, and that it offers a relaxed atmosphere with many different educational and diverse activities. Choo Choo ChildCare is a state licensed child care program.
