About

North Shore Academy of Gymnastics – Preschool & Tots Gymnastics Programs includes activities on traditional gymnastics equipment scaled down to suit the size of the child, along with various props, music, and movement. Children may use trampolines, Tumble Trak, Mini trampoline, Double-Mini trampoline, and practice tumbling basics and floor tumbling skills. Classes can also include equipment such as rope, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon, a Ninja Structure, and a Warped Wall scaled down for younger students, as well as wheeling, rolling, jumping, and safe falling techniques.

The Tot Program uses traditional gymnastics equipment scaled down to suit the size of the child in a fun and nurturing environment and introduces all aspects of gymnastics, with some Specialty TOT Classes focusing on specific areas. Tumble Buddies (ages 1–3) requires parent participation, does not require children to be potty trained, and focuses on partnering with parents to develop skills and confidence and to support transition into independence. Wiggle Worms (age 3) is the first level where children participate without parents’ accompaniment, students must be potty trained, and the class emphasizes socialization and understanding of class structure. Tumble Bee’s (age 4) introduces sequencing and more complex movement patterns, and Fire Flies (age 5) introduces more advanced skill progressions and movement patterns. Jumping Beans is a specialty TOT class that emphasizes trampolines, Tumble Trak, Mini and Double-Mini trampoline, and tumbling basics in an age-appropriate environment, using various props and equipment to develop floor tumbling skills, balance, coordination, and core stability, and ages 3–4 in Jumping Beans must be potty trained. Girls Little Leapers (ages 4–6) introduces rope, hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon combined with a variety of dance movements done to music, and dance is heavily incorporated into this class. North Shore Junior Ninja (ages 3 and 4) uses all aspects of gymnastics along with a Ninja Structure and Warped Wall scaled down for younger students, develops coordination, balance, agility, upper body strength, and core stability to help students move quickly and effortlessly in the face of obstacles, and includes gymnastics principles such as wheeling, rolling, jumping, and safe falling techniques, and students must be potty trained. Future Stars, Dyno-Mites, Mini-Mites is an advanced class by invitation only for students who participate in TOT programming, and instructors recommend students and families are contacted for participation.
