The Delavan-Darien Dolphins Community Swim Team offers competitive and recreational swimming that includes swim practices, in-house swim meets, and meets in nearby communities. Swimmers take part in skill development and endurance training during regular practices. Participants are placed into three levels—White, Gold, and Blue—and are informed of their group after the first week of practice.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Practices are held on Monday and Thursday evenings, with each practice lasting between 1 and 1.5 hours, and a season usually runs 12 to 14 weeks depending on holidays.
• Price: Payment plans are available upon request. Additional swim caps may be purchased at the Delavan Parks and Recreation Department office for $5 per cap.
Programs are offered throughout the course of the school year, with a typical goal of giving participants the opportunity to take part in three or more meets or trials per fall and spring season. The White, Gold, and Blue levels each have defined skill requirements and abilities. The team has a store set up with A3 Performance that includes a recommended team suit and optional goggles, and all purchases from this store are shipped directly to the purchaser, with no payments processed by the Delavan-Darien Dolphins. It is recommended, but not required, that participants purchase the team suit from the A3 Performance team store, and the store also offers optional goggles. All participants receive one “Delavan-Darien Dolphins” swim cap per season year, and this cap is required if the participant will be swimming in meets. The Delavan-Darien Dolphins Community Swim Team is dedicated to teaching young swimmers in the community how to have fun while in a competitive swimming environment and focuses on the skill development of swimmers with a wide range of abilities. The team is a local competitive and recreational based swim program that feeds into the Delavan-Darien High School Swim Program.
