About

The Glendale Heights Summer Camp Program includes field trips outside the center, with visits to Cedarburg Pool, Fox Brook Park, and Shalom Wildlife Zoo. Children take part in weekly camp themes and a variety of hands-on experiences that encourage creativity, innovative thinking, problem solving, and teamwork. The program also includes experiences that promote active play both indoors and outdoors, along with fun activities and field trips that are geared toward the developmental levels and interests of the children in the classrooms, with a little literacy, math, and science mixed into the summer program.

• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: Program runs from June through August, with center hours Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Glendale Heights was founded in 1990 and is a privately owned childcare center with degreed lead teachers, low staff turnover, and a quality teaching staff. The program includes a warm, nurturing environment and is described as so much more than just daycare, driven by purpose, a growth mindset, and gratitude. The center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is rated 5 stars on the Wisconsin Youngstar rating scale. The mission of the program states that learning should be fun, children should feel special, and each child is treated as an individual whose unique qualities are nurtured and allowed to grow, with a focus on social, emotional, and academic preparation, positive self-image, and development of social, cognitive, motor, artistic, and language skills. The mission also states a commitment to building a partnership with families, supporting them in their parenting role, reflecting home cultures in the program, and appreciating the importance of family participation.
