Park's Edge Preschool & Child Care Center offers Christian, infant/toddler, preschool, and school-age programs. The Center is distinctly designed with features that promote an optimal atmosphere for the individual growth and development of each child. Park's Edge Preschool & Child Care Center offers a series of programs for children age 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten that use a well-defined, age-appropriate daily curriculum to direct their learning experience. The program is a non-profit organization established in June of 1999 as an outreach program of the Emanuel United Church of Christ. Emanuel United Church of Christ has been serving the Hales Corners community for over 100 years.
The mission of Park's Edge Preschool is to provide an outstanding Christian environment that focuses on the development of each individual child spiritually, morally, physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. The Center employs a highly trained, diverse, and enthusiastic staff around a 12-hour day and schedules staff in accordance with state licensing requirements. The leadership team includes Ellen Kvalheim, Center Director; Kristin Burr, Assistant Director; Jenele Baldwin, Curriculum Coordinator; and Melinda Antoniewizc, Safety Coordinator and Preschool Teacher. Ellen Kvalheim earned an Early Childhood Administrative Credential from UWM and a Bachelor's Degree, with distinction, in Human Services from Ottawa University and is Registry Level 15. Kristin Burr graduated with her Early Childhood Associate's Degree in 2017. Jenele Baldwin has an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood from MATC and is Registry Level 12.
Park's Edge Preschool & Child Care Center holds NAC Accreditation and a 5 Star YoungStar Provider Rating. Parent feedback includes comments that staff members know each child by name and that families feel thankful for what the staff does for their children. Testimonials also mention that the program has provided children with building blocks to be successful in elementary school, that special events such as a Mother's Day Breakfast are appreciated, and that children have learned a lot in a short time.
