Camp Send A Kid is a non-profit program where kids take part in activities such as nature exploration, archery, fishing, canoeing, hiking, swimming, tomahawk throwing, singing songs, eating together, gazing at the stars, helping each other, creating crafts, sitting by a campfire, enjoying nature, and making new friends. The program also includes time for kids to talk one-on-one with counselors and school resource officers.

• Schedule: One week camp, Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3, 2025
Camp Send A Kid has a mission to provide a structured leadership experience to underprivileged youth between the ages of 8 and 12 in an out-of-doors environment that promotes responsibility, values, self-esteem and self-confidence through activities in outdoor education, teamwork and decision making. It is a one week camp for children in the Greater La Crosse area who have never been to camp before or do not have the means or opportunity to go to any other summer camps. The communities’ DARE and GREAT officers visit the camp, enjoy activities with the kids, and give a short session on a topic important to the community. Camp Send A Kid is not a Gateway Area Council - Boy Scouts of America program; the Gateway Area Council is a partner to provide outreach, service center, and program support.
