U.S. Softball Academy states that its mission is “Building Better Players” and that its camps are designed to develop skills in all facets of the game with an emphasis on teaching proper fundamentals and techniques. The program describes itself as the nation’s largest network of softball camps, hosting in more than 100 cities across the country, with a national program and a local touch. It offers age-specific sessions with instruction tailored for each ability level, with sessions offered through age 18 in the winter/spring program and through 14 in the summer program.

Each location follows the same itinerary of drills, a low player-coach ratio, and a teaching staff made up of coaches from the local area. An average session includes about 30 players with six or seven experienced and professionally trained coaches, including some of the area’s top high school and college coaches. Drill progressions focus on developing good habits while improving overall softball skills, and the summer full-day program separates mornings for skill instruction and afternoons for situational baseball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series. The Summer Training Program focuses on development in hitting, pitching, and fielding in a fun-filled environment, and summer camp runs four days with morning instruction on hitting and defense and afternoon sessions on situational softball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series. Prizes are given for winners, and all participants receive a t-shirt and camp certificate.
