About

Camp Randall Rowing Club Youth Programs focus on competitive rowing. Participants row under the guidance of coaches who follow the club’s policies and safety practices.

• Ages: 12–18 years old

Camp Randall Rowing Club states that its primary purpose is to foster a love of rowing and provide youth rowers opportunities to be competitive in regional and national regattas. The club’s mission is to provide the finest competitive rowing experience possible in an inclusive, encouraging, and safe environment, and to build strong athletes and leaders by teaching valuable lifelong lessons, encouraging responsible and respectful teamwork, and instilling a lifelong passion for excellence learned both on and off the water. The programs seek to encourage, develop, instruct, and train people in the sport of competitive rowing, promote opportunities for amateur competition, encourage lifelong health and wellness, support rowers of all ages who otherwise would never have an opportunity to participate in the sport, and develop an understanding of and appreciation for the sport of rowing among rowers and families.

All Camp Randall Rowing Club coaches, captains, and chaperones are required to complete SafeSport certifications and complete background checks, and semi-annual workshops are provided to all athletes on SafeSport by the club’s Safety and Culture Committee. USRowing is Camp Randall Rowing Club’s governing body and is a member organization of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, and all community members are welcome to complete SafeSport training and certification. The club supports and develops amateur athletes throughout the Dane County community and beyond.

The Camp Randall Rowing Club Board includes Dan Meier (President), Jason Potter (Vice President), Paul Rider (Personnel Committee Chair), Noelle Tarpey (Secretary), Katie Kalscheur (Treasurer), Tricia Wheeler and Katie Parsons (Junior Parent Committee Co-Chairs), Becky Penticoff (Recruiting Chair), Liz Blair (Safety & Culture Committee Representative), and Will Russell (coaching staff representative), and also includes captains of the Junior Program teams.
