Clearwater Camp is guided by a mission to foster confidence, courage, compassion, and community, described as the four points on Clearwater’s compass, through its traditional sleep-away camp experience for girls. The camp operates as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving its longstanding traditions, protecting the natural world around it, and establishing scholarships. One former camper, counselor, and current camp parent describes Clearwater as a place where girls and young women try new things without a fear of failure and often refer to it as their “second home,” with many alumni viewing it as the place they grew up and formed life-long friendships. Testimonials from former campers and Leadership participants describe Clearwater Camp as a place of life-changing moments, a consistent source of love and strength, and a place they continue to call home. Parents and alumni also credit the camp for continuing to invest in their daughters and for teaching them to become strong and independent young women.
