The Education Programs at Food + Farm Exploration Center take place within a twenty-four-acre site that is used to tell the story of production agriculture. The exploration center is built on land farmed by the Worzella family for generations. The Farming for the Future Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, leads this work and was incorporated in 2018. The Pavelski family, who founded the Farming for the Future Foundation, began farming in 1873. The land for the exploration center was donated to the foundation by the Worzella Family, who are multi-generational potato and vegetable growers. The mission of the foundation is to educate current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability, promote agricultural literacy, increase understanding of the origins of food, and deepen the relationship between farmers and consumers. The center includes immersive, multi-sensory activities and exhibits and is described as a resource for teachers and schools, a destination for family excursions and agritourists, and a way to learn about careers in agriculture.
