About

Youth Programs at Food + Farm Exploration Center include activities such as Tot Time, Spring Break Workshops, and a Youth Tractor and Farm Safety Course. Children can take part in cooking classes like St. Patrick's Day Snacks, Carrot Snacks, Chinese Stir Fry Classics, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and Italian Agrodolce Sauce + Pork Schnitzel, as well as the Spud of the Month Cooking Club. The program also offers hands-on experiences such as Carrot Rally Racers, Vroomin’ Veggies, Petals + Plastic Art, Code + Conquer: Finch Bot Challenge, a Speed Puzzle Contest, and the Girl Scouts STEM Career Exploration Badge Program.

• Schedule: Exhibits are open Tuesday–Friday during the day, with extended hours on Thursday, and weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday.

The Youth Programs take place within a broader setting that includes immersive, multi-sensory activities and exhibits related to food and farming. The organization behind the programs, Farming for the Future Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 2018. Its mission is to educate current and future generations about agricultural innovation and sustainability, promote agricultural literacy, increase understanding of the origins of food, and deepen the relationship between farmers and consumers. The land for the exploration center was donated by the Worzella family, who are multi-generational potato and vegetable growers, and the Pavelski family history in Central Wisconsin agriculture dates back to 1873.
