About
L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation is based on five lakes and 1,400 acres of Northern Wisconsin scenery, with pines and hardwoods that form an outdoor classroom. The reservation includes Cub World, which is described as a miniature version of Camp Phillips with a lot to offer a Cub Scout pack in a short three-day stay. It is known for great campsites, traditional Scout activities, enthusiastic staff, and excellent facilities.
• Schedule: Cub World offers a short three-day stay for Cub Scout packs.
Camp Phillips at L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation was made possible through the generosity of Lewis E. Phillips after a 1947 fishing trip and camp tour in Haugen, Wisconsin, and by 1949 enough buildings and areas had been constructed to begin camping. Camp Phillips was dedicated on June 22, 1952, and L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation has been referred to as “America’s Premier Camp Since 1952” and “America’s premier camp.” The Chippewa Valley Council describes the reservation as having a unique, unparalleled program, an experienced, handpicked staff, and an emphasis on quality and customer service, and it notes that the outdoor classroom it provides is unparalleled.
The stated goal of L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation is to provide each Scout who comes to camp with an outdoor experience that allows for personal growth, esteem building, and advancement, while living the Scout Oath and Law. A committee of volunteers oversees the reservation and advocates for areas such as customer satisfaction, food service, shooting sports, aquatics, COPE, outdoor skills, ecology, and advancement. L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation strives to achieve and exceed the standards set by the Boy Scouts of America and has a strong heritage of receiving “A” ratings during National Accreditation.
The Reservation Director is Eric Muench, who also serves as Program Director for the Chippewa Valley Council. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow and has served on the faculty of the National Camping School.
