Camp Tekakwitha is an outdoor ministry program of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay. The program focuses on inviting and guiding young people into a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ amidst the beauty of God's natural creation. Its core values include Spiritual Growth, Authentic Community, Outdoor Adventure & Blessed Fun, Care for Creation, and a Culture of Love and Service for God and Neighbor.
The leadership team includes McKenna Runde as Director of Camp Tekakwitha, Abby Sorensen as Retreat Director, and Kaitlynn Kupsky as Summer Camp Director. McKenna Runde has education in youth ministry and nonprofit leadership. Abby Sorensen has education in Business and Theology from St. Norbert College and previously served as a Faith Formation Coordinator. Camp Tekakwitha is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), the national accrediting body for camps of all types. As an outdoor ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, its vision includes fostering a joy-filled community of faith, inspiring a relationship with God through prayer and discernment, promoting stewardship for all of God's gifts, and providing an opportunity for young people to grow in personal development, leadership, and team building skills.
