For over 136 years, the YMCA of the Fox Cities has been a unifying force in the Fox Valley. Camp Shioc Day Camp & School Age Programs is maintained by the Appleton YMCA on a fully enclosed 10-acre campus that includes a stocked pond, low ropes course, sports field, STEAM activities area, outdoor cooking area, arts and crafts area, and playground area. The program follows weekly themes from Week 1 (June 8–12) through Week 11 (August 17–21), including sessions such as “Welcome to Camp Shioc!” and “End of Summer Celebration!”. Campers participate in an open swim at the Appleton YMCA once a week. Session dates run June 8–August 21, 2026, from 6:30 AM–6:00 PM, with bus departure at 8:15 AM (children must arrive no later than 8:00 AM) and bus return at 4:00 PM, and Camp Shioc will only be accepting week-long registrations.

Parent Orientation is scheduled for May 13 at the Appleton YMCA from 4:00–5:30 PM, and an Open House will be held June 5 from 3:00–5:00 PM at Camp Shioc. Planned special events include a field trip to Heritage Hill on Wednesday, June 24, Family Night on Wednesday, July 8, and a field trip to Pollock Pool on Wednesday, August 12. Campers who are 7 years old or older have the option to participate in archery. The program’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice by promoting youth, adult and family activities that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, and Outagamie County partners with the YMCA to bring a childcare center to the Brewster Street campus. The Camp Shioc Day Camp & School Age Programs director is Ross Mortensen.
