About
Summer Camps at Woodland Dunes Nature Center & Preserve take place at a nature center that includes hiking trails and 1,500 acres of land with ridge and swale ecosystems. Registration for summer camps will open in March of 2026, with camp names and dates listed in a table where families can click the name of each camp for more details.

Woodland Dunes Nature Center began in 1965 when local resident Bernie Brouchoud started banding and releasing birds on what is now Woodland Dunes property. The organization has been protecting and conserving wildlife for over 50 years and now safeguards 1,500 acres of habitat that has been designated as “globally significant.” Its mission is to preserve and restore natural ecosystems through responsible stewardship, education, and community engagement so that native habitats and wildlife thrive for generations to come. The leadership team includes Executive Director Sue Crowley. Woodland Dunes acknowledges that it resides on traditional Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Ojibwe, Ottawa, and Potawatomi homelands along the west shore of Michigami, where the Mishicot and Neshota Rivers meet and where the people of Wisconsin’s sovereign Ojibwe, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Oneida, and Mohican nations are present. The Dunesletter is a quarterly newsletter mailed to members of Woodland Dunes.
