Easterseals Wisconsin Camps

Easterseals Wisconsin Camps includes Camp Wawbeek, Wisconsin Elks/Easterseals Respite Camp, and Veterans Family Camp. Camp Wawbeek offers summer Youth and Teen sessions, Adult, Young Adult, and Transition sessions, and weekend sessions from September through May. Wisconsin Elks/Easterseals Respite Camp serves children and adults with disabilities who require individualized support and care, and Veterans Family Camp is held twice a year for veterans and family only.

About the provider

Easterseals Wisconsin Camps is the longest continuously running Easterseals camp program in the nation. Camp Wawbeek began providing services in 1938, and Easterseals Wisconsin has provided programs since 1926. The mission is to increase independence, maximize opportunities, minimize barriers, and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. The accessible camps share over 400 wooded acres near Wisconsin Dells, and Camp Wawbeek has a registered nurse living on-site and one counselor for every two to three campers.

Campers are encouraged to achieve their goals and try new things while staff provide a safe environment. Campers with physical or mild cognitive disabilities or those who need behavior support can attend Camp Wawbeek if they are able to succeed in a small group setting. Campers with disabilities are offered an inclusive environment and individualized support and care.
