Expedition Multi-Sport – Curt Gowdy (7th–8th Grade) is a weeklong multi-sport expedition camp where campers take part in white water rafting, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, standup paddleboarding, and camping. Groups of no more than 13 campers with 2 staff members also spend time on teambuilding, cooking their own meals on camp stoves, and sleeping in tents. Campers use top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, and transportation to and from recreation areas is provided.

• Schedule: One-week sessions with Sunday check-in at 10:00 AM and Friday check-out at 3:00 PM; total camp hours are 125

A sample daily schedule includes a 7:00 AM wake-up, Morning Circle at 7:15 AM, breakfast at 7:30 AM, self and group care at 8:30 AM, a first adventure starting at 9:00 AM, lunch at noon, a second adventure or continuation of the first at 1:00 PM, hang out and bond time at 5:00 PM, Evening Circle at 5:45 PM, dinner at 6:00 PM, an evening activity at 7:00 PM, and tent time/bedtime at 9:00 PM. The program has a Difficulty Rating of 1 – Entry Level Adventure and a Wilderness Rating of 1 – Improved Site Camping, and all water is brought to the site filtered for drinking, hand washing, and food preparation. Camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, and programs evolve from age 3 through a first summer job.

Avid4 Instructors are all 18 and older with safety and skills training. Avid4 Adventure is accredited by the American Camp Association, named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps, and is a Certified B Corp. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The founder, David Secunda, is the former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.

The mission of Avid4 Adventure states that the organization believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that kids at Avid4 Adventure build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The mission also states that Avid4 Adventure offers day camps and extended overnight options and was created to give kids a love of outdoor activity and to ensure the future caretaking of the planet.
