West Valley Community Center

West Valley Community Center offers before and after school programs, teen leadership, summer camp, English as a second language classes, GED development, high school diploma support, and citizenship classes. The before and after school programs include transportation, and nutrition support includes meals and snacks each day.

Programs

• Before and After School Programs — 4 to 13 · Award winning before and after school programs and transportation offered for youths ages 4 to 13 at two sites in Surprise and El Mirage.
• Teen Leadership — Teen Empowerment Program that equips young people with practical life skills, mentorship, and community connections.
• Summer Camp — Seven-week Summer Camp Program designed to support underprivileged youths and help prevent summer learning loss.
• English as a second language (ESL) — Program for students learning to speak, read, and write English.
• GED Development — General Educational Development program for adults and out-of-school youth to earn a high school equivalency credential.
• High School Diploma — Sponsored by The Alexandria Academy, provides individuals of all ages with the opportunity to earn missing credits necessary for graduation.
• Citizenship — Citizenship classes designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the rights, responsibilities, and privileges associated with citizenship.

West Valley Community Center has served underprivileged community members since 1962. Its mission is to empower children, youths, and adults by providing the tools and skills required to improve their lives and achieve self-sufficiency. The before and after school programs are award winning, and volunteer opportunities include youth education, adult education, special events, and community projects.
