Kids Camp is a hands-on, animal-themed camp where kids learn about pet care, wildlife, and compassion for all creatures. The program takes place at the Coconino Humane Association animal shelter and focuses on direct, animal-related learning experiences.
The Coconino Humane Association was founded in 1955. Its mission is to operate a humane and caring shelter that will give aid to unwanted, abandoned, and mistreated animals in Flagstaff and across Northern Arizona. The organization provides animal sheltering services for owner surrendered pets, pet adoption services, low cost spay/neuter and vaccine programs, community service and volunteer programs, Kids Camp, and emergency sheltering during times of disaster. The Coconino Humane Association transitioned from a municipal contracted animal shelter to a no-kill humane society on January 1st, 2019.
