About the provider

HEART Centered Camps was founded in 2014. The leadership team includes Chelsea Harden, CTRS, who is the Founder and Executive Director, along with Miss Carrie, Operations Manager; Miss Kennedy, Vocational Director; and Mr Matt, Culinary Director. Chelsea Harden is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and a PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. The program states that the HEART Center is an innovative microschool where neurodiverse students build academic knowledge, life skills, confidence and independence through horses, purposeful movement, and real-world learning experiences, and calls this approach Education Through Recreation.

Inclusive for neurodiverse and neurotypical youth. A caregiver or communication partner may be welcome/encouraged for some camps depending on support needs. For campers who require 1:1 support or assistance with daily living skills, a support provider may be requested. Camperships and income-based scholarships are mentioned for some programs.
