Ascend Dance Academy

Ascend Dance Academy offers Sprout for ages 2-5, with rhythmic movement, creative play, simplified ballet exercises, rhythm patterns, props, and imagery. It also offers Leap for ages 5-7 with classical ballet, jazz, and tap, and Peak for ages 7 and up with ballet, jazz, contemporary, Broadway, Pilates, tap, and hip hop.

Programs

• Sprout — 2-5 · Program for the youngest dancers; includes rhythmic movement, creative play, simplified ballet exercises, rhythm patterns, props, and imagery.
• Leap — 5-7 · Specialized curriculum for ages 5-7 with fundamentals of classical ballet, jazz, and tap.
• Peak — 7 and up · All-inclusive program with training in multiple dance styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, Broadway, and Pilates; tap and hip hop are also listed in the program description.
• Tot Time — Ages 2 and under · Once a week, 30 minutes · Parent-and-child class for tiny dancers under age 2 with songs, props, and movement concepts.
• Creative Movement — 2-3 · Once a week, 45 minutes · Introduces movement to music with focus on coordination and flexibility.
• Pre-Ballet — 3-5 · Once a week, 45 minutes · Introduces simple ballet movements with imagery, games, creativity, posture, strength, flexibility, coordination, dance patterns, and rhythm.
• Jazz and Tap — 3-5 · Once a week, 45 minutes · Combo class with half jazz and half tap; includes jazz fundamentals, coordination, rhythm, sound patterns, and basic tap terminology.
• Fundamentals — 5-7 · 40 minutes per week · Ballet, jazz, and tap fundamentals for ages 5-7.
• Open Classes — 5-7 · Includes Lyrical and Hip Hop classes for ages 5-7.
• Lyrical — 5-7 · Expressive dance class combining ballet and jazz techniques.
• Hip Hop — 5-7 · Class focused on movement with music, vocabulary, bounce, footwork, versatility, self-expression, and personal style development.

At a glance

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• General schedule: Placement is according to age; enrollment age is determined by age as of Labor Day, except Creative Movement, where students may enroll once they turn 2 years old. If students are between levels, placement week in the lower level is used to determine best placement. Sprout is for ages 2-5, Leap is for ages 5-7, and Peak is for ages 7 and up.

Ascend Dance Academy has ABT certified instructors, American Ballet Theatre® Certified teachers, and uses the ABT® National Training Curriculum. The Peak Company Competition Team achieved Top 12 finishes in competition. The academy has state-of-the-art studios with Sprung Marley floors and is fully Zoom-enabled.
