Arizona Soccer Association Youth Soccer Programs

Arizona Soccer Association Youth Soccer Programs offer soccer activities that include youth soccer competitions and an after-school soccer program. The programs are organized by the Arizona Soccer Association, which focuses on the sport of soccer for young people.

Founded in 1974, the Arizona Soccer Association has played a significant role in expanding youth soccer throughout the state of Arizona. Its mission is to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of the state of Arizona’s youth through the sport of soccer at all levels, ages and competition level. Arizona Soccer Association has eight administrative geographic regions, each with an elected commissioner who serves on the Board of Directors. ASA has reported growth from less than 25,000 players in 2010–11 to over 44,000 in 2015–16, a rate it states no other US Youth Soccer State Association matched during that time. Arizona Soccer Association states that it provides equal opportunity for athletes, coaches, trainers, managers, administrators and officials to participate in youth soccer competitions without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age or gender, and that individuals serving on its Board of Directors or committees are selected without regard to these characteristics. The broader US Youth Soccer structure that includes state associations reports over 3,500,000 youth players between the ages of 4–19 registered for the 2015–16 season and notes that the US Youth Soccer Association was founded in 1974 with approximately 100,000 players. Arizona Soccer Association has announced Chick-fil-A as the official restaurant partner of its Advanced and Academy Leagues and an exclusive partnership with Lerner & Rowe Injury Attorneys to expand a free after-school soccer program.
