• Schedule: Lesson and camp options are available Monday–Thursday afternoons and evenings, Friday afternoons and early evenings, Saturday mornings and afternoons, and Sunday afternoons.

Music Maker Workshops Camps and Lessons was founded by Mrs. Beverly Bigam in 1997 and is now co-directed by her daughters, Kim Steedman and Shelley Yakubow. It has been part of the Ahwatukee community for 26 years and states its mission as “Empowering Musical Journeys Through Personalized Instruction and Vibrant Community Engagement.” The program has a diverse team of over 40 instructors and offers instrument rentals year-round as a partner of Milano Music, along with accessories such as band books, cleaning kits, music stands, and reeds. It hosts two recitals each year at venues including the Tempe Center of the Arts and Esperanza Lutheran Church, and Rock Band participants showcase their talents in local restaurants and rock venues. Music Maker Workshops Camps and Lessons is endorsed as the #1 music studio by the Ahwatukee Foothills Newspaper for eight consecutive years and is an ESA Approved Vendor. The program is deeply connected with local families, businesses, and organizations, including a partnership with the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.

Parent testimonials describe long-term piano study starting at age 4, camp experiences that include music + art, and camps where children learn three different instruments of their choice in small groups with a performance for parents on the last day. Parents also report that multiple family members take lessons at the same time, that children have participated in DJ lessons, and that their kids look forward to this camp and weekly lessons.
