Over the past 20 summers, Arizona Swim Camp has worked with over 2,000 competitive swimmers on stroke technique. The camp is led by Camp Director Brandy Maben and Northern Arizona head swimming and diving coach Andy Johns. Brandy Maben is a former captain of Arizona's 2008 National Championship team, a former University of Arizona coach and recruiting coordinator, an Olympic Trials and NCAA qualifier, and a former top-20 world-ranked swimmer in the 50-meter fly, and she has directed and served as lead instructor at the Arizona Nike Swim Camp for over five years. Andy Johns has won 10 consecutive Western Athletic Conference titles as a head coach, has been named coach of the year eight times since joining the WAC in 2005, and his teams have achieved 62 individual and relay conference titles, 126 school records, nine conference records, and 49 NCAA qualifying marks, with student-athletes posting cumulative GPAs of 3.50 and higher in 8 of the referenced years.
Arizona Swim Camp uses a low camper-to-staff ratio and offers an Extra Starts & Turns Clinic option that can extend the camp experience to six days. Every camper receives a camp T-shirt and swim cap and is eligible to receive merit-based prizes during camp. Team discounts are available, flexible cancellation options are offered, and last year camp sessions sold out at this location. Campers enrolling only in the one-day Starts & Turns Clinic must select the commuter option, and overnight accommodations are reserved for campers in the full week program. The program has an average rating of 5.00 out of 5 stars based on 5 reviews.
