About
Scouting Arizona Youth Programs is part of Scouting Arizona, one of the state’s most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The program includes Cub Scouting for youth in grades K–5, Scouts BSA for youth 11–17 years old, Venturing for co-ed youth 14–20 years old, and Exploring for co-ed youth 10–20 years old. The program also offers safeguarding youth training and access to council camp property reservations for its participants and groups.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
Scouting Arizona states that its programs help young people build character and life skills. The organization has been recognized through honors such as the 2026 Scouts of the Year and the 2025 Council Honors Award recipients. In the Central-Metro community, four new Eagle Scouts were recognized for nearly 400 hours of service.
Participants describe their experiences in several ways. Bianca from Exploring Post 8246 says that in her post, youth learn leadership, responsibility, and life skills, and that advisors guide them in Exploring and beyond. Christopher from Troop 513 says he is having a lot of fun in Scouting, getting outdoors, meeting new people, and making great friends. Maddie from Troop 3014 says Scouting includes meeting people, learning life skills, gaining confidence, and that it can lead to career opportunities. Elsa from Troop 3126 says Scouting allows anyone to grow, and that she caught her first fish and helped remove invasive species through the program. Conrad from Troop 41 says Scouting teaches more than outdoor skills, including life skills and lessons that help navigate the world. Joey from Troop 653 says Scouting is for everyone because it offers many different experiences that support growth as a leader, as a person, and in faith.
