About

Leman Academy of Excellence Preschool and K-8 Programs offers a classical curriculum that follows the traditions of Western culture and treats all disciplines as interrelated so scholars can think independently and critically. The program includes a tuition-based preschool at select locations and a tuition-free public charter school for grades K–8 with open-admission policies and no entrance exam. From preschool through middle school, it offers programs that range from a nurturing preschool setting to a rigorous K–8 foundation, with a classical course of study that looks at the past and its connection to today’s society.

Leman Academy of Excellence Preschool and K-8 Programs states that its teachers are highly qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to helping each scholar thrive. The leadership team includes Chief Education Officer Bethany Papajohn, Head of Schools Colorado Dr. Jason Edwards, and founder and child psychologist Dr. Kevin Leman. The mission of the program is to offer a rigorous, classical education based on the traditions of Western culture, to partner with supportive parents, pursue excellence, provide a safe and challenging environment, and instill morals and values in order to produce tomorrow’s leaders today. The program emphasizes a classical curriculum that nurtures wisdom, virtue, and critical thinking, with a focus on building character and instilling morals, and it identifies parents as partners in the child’s intellectual, social, emotional, and ethical development. Families have tuition-free access to the K–8 charter program, which the school states offers resources that rival private schools.
