About
SARSEF Programs focus on science and engineering experiences for students. The programs follow SARSEF’s mission of creating Arizona’s future critical thinkers and problem solvers through science and engineering. SARSEF’s vision for these programs is: Every child. Thinking critically. Solving problems.
SARSEF Programs focus on engaging student populations underrepresented in the fields of STEM. The programs prioritize creating low- to no-cost opportunities for students in schools with higher percentages of low-income families. SARSEF educators travel to schools and community centers throughout the state to provide student outreach, teacher professional development, and family workshops. The programs foster communities of support for students in STEM by building the confidence and toolboxes of teachers, administrators, caregivers, and community members.
In SARSEF Programs, 96.5% of teachers were able to integrate state standards for math and science as their students worked on their research projects. According to reported outcomes, 96% of students say projects encourage them to ask more questions or solve more problems in the future. In addition, 100% of teachers said their students gained skills they will carry with them in their future careers using science and engineering.
