Acton Karate opened in the summer of 1994. Little Dragons pre-school martial arts is for ages 4–6, with classes described as fun and encouraging while working with kids to gain confidence while learning self-defense. Karate & Krav JR’s classes are for ages 8–12 and focus on foundational skills, and Karate & Krav Teens classes are for ages 13 and up and focus on building confidence and discipline. Krav Maga adults classes are described as designed to build the skills needed for self-defense in the real world. Women’s Power Boxing Classes combine the adrenaline of cardio with the intensity of a punching bag workout, and Power Boxing fuses intense cardio with dynamic punching bag workouts. BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) classes for ages 15 and up are described as designed to improve technique, build physical strength, and enhance mental resilience, focusing on self-defense, discipline, and community. For younger martial arts students, progression between belt levels requires proficiency in physical and technical skills, school grades, and conduct outside of the dojo, while older and advanced students focus more on traditional Krav Maga and learning the skills it takes to be a positive leader. Students learn how to stay calm under pressure, how to set goals, and about both physical and mental health as well as nutrition. All memberships are month-to-month terms and must include a 30-day cancellation notice. Acton Karate and Krav Maga training is presented as an option to take back peace of mind, try a new workout, or get a child interested in a fun and beneficial hobby.
