Acton Karate and Krav Maga offers martial arts classes that include Karate, Krav Maga, pre-school martial arts, BJJ (Brazilian Jiujitsu), Women’s Power Boxing Classes, Power Boxing, fitness training, and self-defense training. The program includes a Little Dragons pre-school martial arts option and classes that focus on both ground and stand-up defensive moves. Acton Karate & Krav Maga provides students with technical knowledge of martial arts and focuses on proper mindset to achieve personal goals.

Acton Karate opened in the summer of 1994 under the leadership of Master Frankie McConnell. The leadership team includes Master Frankie McConnell (Head instructor, 6th Degree Black Belt), Master Christian Trevillyan (4th Dan), Mr. Frank Navarro (1st Dan), Mr. Hunter Watson, Mr. Mason McConnell (2nd Dan), and Austyn McConnell. Master Frankie McConnell has been training in martial arts for over 33 years, holds a 6th dan Master black belt in American Tang Soo Do under Grandmaster Dennis Ichikawa, is a Blue Belt in MMA IFMMA, and has trained in Krav Maga, MMA, Jiujitsu, Arnis, Sambo, Muay Thai, and Kung fu san soo.
The program includes Little Dragons pre-school martial arts for ages 4, 5, and 6 years old, Karate & Krav JR’s classes for ages 8–12 focused on foundational skills, Karate & Krav Teens classes for ages 13 and up, Krav Maga adults classes for real-world self-defense skills, Women’s Power Boxing Classes that combine cardio with a punching bag workout, and a BJJ class for ages 15+ focusing on grappling, ground fighting, self-defense, discipline, and community. Younger students must show proficiency in physical and technical skills, school grades, and conduct outside of the dojo to progress between belt levels, while older and advanced students focus more on traditional Krav Maga and learning skills to be positive leaders. All memberships are month-to-month and require a 30-day cancellation notice, and new students must fill out a participation waiver and bring it on the first day of class.
Acton Karate & Krav Maga is an affiliate school with the International Federation of Mixed Martial Arts, the American Krav Maga Association level one and level two, and Krav Maga Alliance as well as level one and level two Krav Maga Worldwide. Master McConnell and his team are in partnership with Assemblyman Tom Lackey in his fight against domestic violence, and hundreds of women and teens attended the workshop in the Antelope Valley in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
