About
Gracie Barra Agoura Kids Program offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self-defense classes for children. Classes follow the Gracie Barra curriculum with a focus on strong fundamentals, technical development, and personal growth in a safe and supportive environment. The kids program is designed to do more than teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu; it helps shape strong, confident, and respectful individuals, and training is described as helping make kids “bullying proof.”
• Ages: 4–15 years old
• Schedule: Class options Monday–Saturday during daytime and evening hours
Gracie Barra Agoura has been open since 2022 and offers structured programs designed to support everyone from complete beginners to experienced practitioners, with a methodology designed to support all levels and focus on each student’s technical and personal growth. The kids program is led by Professor Jaeson Bianchi, a second-degree black belt under Professor Romulo Barral, who has been head instructor of the kids program at Gracie Barra Northridge for over ten years and has been leading youth programs since 2011. The leadership team also includes Professor Romulo Barral, a BJJ Hall of Fame member, fifth-degree black belt, founder of Gracie Barra Northridge, 10-time world champion including 5 black belt world titles, ADCC champion, World No-Gi champion, 2-time Pan champion, European champion, and 2-time Brazilian champion, and Professor Zane Spruce, a BJJ black belt under Romulo Barral.
Gracie Barra Agoura offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction to the communities of Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Oak Park, Calabasas, West Hills, Thousand Oaks, Malibu, and Woodland Hills. Reviewers describe the program as a great learning environment for kids, with coaches who are “always on it and helping every student,” and mention kids growing confidence and strength in class. Multiple reviewers highlight the kids program, including parents of 5- and 7-year-old children who report that their kids enjoy going to class and note a focus on respect, discipline, teamwork, and self-defense. A reviewer also describes Gracie Barra Agoura as a small, close-knit community with a high level of technique and personal attention, and another calls it “the best place to train the real Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.”
New students are offered a free trial class. For classes, students are instructed to bring a GI for traditional classes, comfortable workout clothes for NO GI, and a water bottle.
