Agoura Art Camp (The Art Camp) offers creative arts activities that include art and crafts, along with unique crafts, activities, and entertainment. Campers take part in workshops that focus on exploring a wide variety of techniques and materials. The program runs during Thanksgiving Camp, Winter Camp, Spring Camp, and Summer Camp.
• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Art Camp 2026 runs for 8 weeks; Spring Camp 2026 runs March 30–April 3 (5 days), with Spring Break Art Camp meeting Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• Price: $115 per day for Spring Camp 2026; $575 per week for Art Camp 2026; JCIT (7th–8th): $380/week; CIT (9th): $315/week; CIT (10th): $105/week
Agoura Art Camp (The Art Camp) offers Mini Camps for Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks, including a Spring Camp 2026 program for PreK and up for children who are at least 5 by September 1, 2026. Every day of Spring Break Art Camp has its own special theme with unique crafts, activities, and entertainment, and Spring Break Mini Camp uses smaller group sizes. The program includes a JCIT and CIT program with 2-week bundles, optional add-on weeks, and a $100 discount for enrolling in 6 or more weeks of the JCIT/CIT program, as well as a Spring Camp 2026 promotion of “Buy 4 days, get the 5th free.” Camp is open to kids going into Kindergarten and up and welcomes all campers regardless of race, religion, or background.
The Art Camp’s team includes enrichment specialists, Le Cordon Bleu chefs, Bachelor’s degree graduates, and performing arts professionals. The leadership team includes Director and Art Camp Owner Ashley Falsnes, Art Camp 101 & Junior Camp Director and Staff Development Director Deborah Turobiner, Upper & Teen Camp Director and Staff Development Director Skyler Colangelo, and Founder David Wohlstadter. Ashley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Theatre Arts from The University of Arizona in 2003 and a Master of Arts in Cross-Cultural Communications with a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from National University in 2007, and she has over 25 years of experience working with children through camps, volunteer programs, coaching, tutoring, and teaching. From 2020 to 2022, Ashley served as the Kindergarten General Studies Lead Teacher and Art Specialist for Grades 1–5 at Ilan Ramon Day School. Skyler graduated Summa Cum Laude from California Lutheran University in 2024 with a degree in Liberal Studies in Education and a minor in Art History and has experience as an Assistant General Education Teacher for Kindergarten for 3 years, an Art Specialist Teacher for K–5th Grade for 2 years, a Science Specialist Teacher for K–5th Grade for 1 year, and a 3rd Grade Associate General Education Teacher.
The Summer Art Academy first opened its doors in 2003 in Van Nuys, California, and over the next four years it operated in Bel Air and eventually in Valley Village. In 2007, David opened a second campus at Ilan Ramon Day School in Agoura Hills. In 2015, Ashley officially became the Camp Owner, and in 2017 she introduced “Mini Camps” for Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks. This summer, 2025, marks the 18th year of Art Camp, and summer 2026 marks the 19th year of Art Camp, as well as Ashley’s 19th summer as Camp Director and 10th as Camp Owner, Deborah’s 9th year at Art Camp, and Skyler’s 18th year as part of the Art Camp family. The Art Camp has continued operating after the loss of its building due to the Woolsey Fires and closure during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to its mission statement, Art Camp is committed to a custom-crafted summer arts program with stimulating and enriching workshops that explore a wide variety of techniques and materials, taught by a caring, patient, seasoned staff of directors, teachers, camp counselors, CITs, and JCITs. The mission statement describes a high level of personal service, attention to detail, and a diverse daily curriculum tailored to children’s inherent curiosity and sense of discovery. It also states that the program focuses on engaging and enriching creative arts activities, supports campers in trying activities, facilitates camper friendships, gives teens a chance to lead, and encourages play, silliness, spirit, and “Art Camp magic,” and that this commitment to excellence sets Art Camp apart and draws a loyal community of returning campers.
