Wild Things Outdoor Learning

Wild Things Outdoor Learning offers Child and Caregiver Class, Nature Preschool Classes, Camps, and a Homeschool Nature Class. Activities listed include nature explorations, play, arts and crafts, group games, and mostly undirected play in nature. The program is entirely student-led, play-based, and outdoors.

• Child and Caregiver Class — 1-5 · Fridays, 9:15-10:45 · Parent-and-me style class; drop-in classes available if space is available; best suited for children who are capable of walking steadily on their own (unless carried) and up to 5 years old
• Nature Preschool Classes (Homeschool Enrichment) (Drop-Off Program) — 2.5-ish-6-ish · Mondays-Fridays, 8:00-12:00 · Enrollment options include 1-5 days per week; extended care available
• Camps (Drop-Off Program) — 2.5-ish-6-ish · 5 days a week; 1-5 day options available; 8:00-12:00 · $85 per day · Drop-off camp with nature explorations, play, arts and crafts, and group games; extended care possible until 1:00 pm
• Homeschool Nature Class TK-ish - 2nd Grade-ish — TK-ish to 2nd Grade-ish · Twice a week; one day a week or both · Generally for homeschooled children; very much like the Nature Preschool Class; mostly undirected play in nature

About the provider

Amanda Griffith is the founder and teacher. The Nature Preschool Class started in March 2024. The program’s mission statement is "EXPLORE CONNECT GROW," and it says that a connection with nature leads to greater connections with ourselves and others.

Program is entirely student-led, play-based, and outdoors. Child and Caregiver classes are parent-and-me style and caregivers are expected to be hands-on. Camps are drop-off programs. Nature Preschool Classes are described as homeschool enrichment and a drop-off program. Student-teacher ratio is never more than 6-1 for Nature Preschool Classes and 6:1 for camps.
