Alpine Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Alpine Jiu-Jitsu Academy offers Mini’s (Gi) and Mini’s (No-Gi) classes, Teen’s (Gi) and Teen’s (No-Gi) classes, Youths (Gi) and Youths (No-Gi) classes, Adult Beginner Class (Fundamentals), Adult Classes (Advanced & Expert) (Gi & No Gi), MMA, Women’s Self Defense/Special Events, and Little Dragons. The Mini’s classes require Gi, and the adult beginner class includes no sparring. The adult advanced and expert classes include advanced Jiu Jitsu techniques, competition prep, sparring, and live positional drilling.

About the provider

Alpine Jiu-Jitsu Academy opened in Alpine in 2016 and has supported the East County community since 2016. Frank Califano is the founder and instructor, and the leadership team also includes Tarsis Humphreys, Deborah Clem, David Goan, Danielle Kaiser, Hector Mena, Brittany Schofer, and Matt Heinemann. The page states that head instructors are black belts with years of experience teaching children and adults, and that coaches are CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. Frank Califano also coached youth sports in the community for over 15 years.

Classes available for ages 5+; curriculum for all experience levels; kids camps throughout the year; special events include parent’s night out, in-house tournaments, and self-defense. Sibling and family discounts and active law enforcement and military personal discounts are mentioned. Gi required for all Mini’s classes.
