Lions Tigers & Bears lists Kids Summer Day Camp among its events, along with Wild in the Country Fundraiser, Christmas with the Animals Fundraiser, Spooky Campover, Pumpkin Bash, Thanksgiving Turkey Bash, and Kids Free October. The organization’s Founder and Director is Bobbi Brink. In September 2002, Bobbi first rescued tigers Raja and Natasha from deplorable living conditions in a Texas backyard, and this rescue laid the foundation of two decades of lifesaving work. Over more than 21 years, the organization has rescued more than 1,000 big cats, bears, and other exotic animals from across the nation and is now home to more than 60 animals representing 19 species.
Lions Tigers & Bears states that it is dedicated to providing a safe haven to abused and abandoned exotic animals and to inspiring an educational forum to end the exotic animal trade, and that it is a NO BREED sanctuary that allows the animals in its care to live out their lives with dignity in a caring and safe environment. It is described as Southern California's only fully accredited animal rescue, animal sanctuary, and educational facility for big cats, bears, and other exotic animals, and as a state and federally licensed 501(c)(3) non-profit. It has received Travellers' Choice Best of the Best recognition. The sanctuary offers guided educational visits of the sanctuary and animal habitats, with opportunities to meet lions, tigers, bears, and other big cats such as leopards, bobcats, mountain lions, and servals, along with dozens of ranch animals. One visitor described the experience with the words, “It's eye opening.”
