NBC Camps states that “NBC” stands for “Nothing Beats Commitment” and uses the motto “better players, better people,” with an emphasis on daily habits, gratitude, confidence, goals, self-discipline, mental toughness, building stronger families and friendships, and developing a strong personal faith. Servant leadership is described as being at the core of NBC Camps, and the program states that each camper is considered vitally important, valued, and having potential. NBC Camps describes its approach as teaching players to play with intensity, grit, resilience, focus, intelligence, joy, and gratitude, and expects coaches and campers to provide energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement to create a positive culture and learning environment.

The coaching staff is described as outstanding and chosen based on high integrity and character, and coaches are trained to serve others, be intentionally engaged with each camper, and operate as professionals. High school athletes are placed in teaching groups based on age, ability, and gender with expectations of a high pace focused on skill mastery, mental toughness, and leadership on and off the court. Middle school teaching focuses on accurate skills, foundational excellence, decision making, pattern recognition, and confidence building. The Complete Player Basketball Camp covers all aspects of the sport with emphasis on defense, ball handling, offensive moves, team movement, and understanding of the game, and includes 6–10 hours per day of basketball skill work, drills, games, tournaments, and leadership training, along with a personal skill assessment that includes words of encouragement and ways to improve.

NBC Camps notes fun and high energy camp events such as Intensity Night, the Evening Program, and All-Star Games, and describes Intensity Night as involving sweat, music, encouragement, and confidence building. The Golden Ruler Award is identified as the highest achievement at NBC Camps, with criteria that include journaling, designing workouts, memorization, testing, and essays, and only campers ages 13–18 may try for this award. The Golden Ruler Award is also described as teaching campers to become a person of depth and reflection while instilling the importance of community service, discipline, and accountability.

NBC Camps states that it is celebrating 55 years of camp excellence and mentions a legacy of fifty years of successful camp programs. NBC Camps is described as one of the largest and most respected sports camps in the world, with locations in six countries, and it offers summer camps, fall and spring training academies, year-round clinics, and international travel teams. Campers are housed with usually two campers per room and share a common bathroom, and coaches of the same gender stay in the dorms for supervision. There is no air conditioning, and campers are encouraged to bring a fan. Players are expected to supply their own athletic equipment, including at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball shoes, and to bring their own clearly labeled basketball. NBC Camps states it is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Transportation is not provided, and campers are responsible for getting to and from camp, with no supervision before or after camp hours, so parents are expected to arrange timely pick-up. A Camp Store may sell snacks, sports drinks, and NBC gear such as t-shirts and sweatshirts at some locations, and parents can place money in a camp bank for their camper, with a recommendation of $40–$60 for snacks, drinks, apparel, and other products.
