Antioch First 5 Center is a family resource center for moms, dads, grandparents, or other adult caregivers and their children from birth to age 5. The staff are trained in early childhood development. The Center Director is Rhea Hodges, the Community Resource Specialist is Rocio Ceja, and the Family and Community Liaison is Marcela Lopez. The mission statement is: “Where all families with young children in Contra Costa are welcome! Become a part of a diverse community where pregnant and parenting families connect, learn, play and grow together during their child’s first 5 years!” The Family and Community Liaison is responsible for building and strengthening relationships between families, community stakeholders, and the centers, and Community Advisory Councils made up of volunteer parents and caregivers provide input to help shape programs and activities.
