The Arcata Community Pool Learn-to-Swim Program is part of a non-profit government agency that offers year-round recreational and educational activities and has provided water quality, cleanliness, education, and customer service on the North Coast for over 35 years. The program states that its American Red Cross Swimming lessons teach people of all ages to swim and be safe in and around water and that its Learn-to-Swim program gives children a positive, developmentally appropriate approach to aquatic learning. The organization appreciates support, accepts donations of any amount, and thanks the Arcata Foundation, Ford Family, Humboldt Area Foundation, Humboldt Redwood Company LLC, and Humboldt Sponsors for their contributions and continued support. Discounts are available for families that receive benefits from Medical, Cal Works, and/or SSI Disability, and potential recipients of the subsidized swim lesson program must sign up in person and show proof of eligibility, including a valid photo ID.
