About
Central Coast Aquarium Programs include permanent exhibits and programs such as Discovery Labs, Quest Discovery Labs, Floating Labs, Tidepools on Tour, and Big Fish Little Fish. The Exhibit Hall features 14 exhibits in a small, 2-room aquarium that hosts over 250 marine creatures and more than 75 different central coast species. Visitors can learn about over 75 local species from a volunteer team while viewing an oceanfront scene of Avila Beach.

Its mission is to cultivate a community dedicated to ocean stewardship through education, engagement, and action. The organization hosts school programs, community events, and science seminars, and it also offers birthday parties and weddings. A volunteer program includes roles such as Animal Care Team, Exhibit Hall Docent, Outreach & Events, and Educator Volunteer. Free street parking is available nearby, with an $8 per day public lot on 1st Street and an option to ride the free Avila Trolley during summer months.
