Community Action Partnership of Kern, which administers the Friendship House After School Program, was established in 1965 and administers more than a dozen programs. Its stated mission is to address poverty through direct services, advocacy, and locally driven solutions that promote dignity and self-sufficiency in the communities it serves. The organization reports that by collaborating with other human service agencies and non-profit organizations, it has been able to reach vulnerable and marginalized communities throughout the region that are in need of assistance. Space at the Friendship House is currently available to the community for rent or lease.
