Soccer Without Borders Bay Area offers in-school, after-school, weekend, and summer programs that include soccer activities such as tournaments, clinics, summer camps, and free, intentional leagues. The program also provides trainings for coaches.

Since 2006, Soccer Without Borders has been creating spaces where underserved youth can learn, grow, and find belonging through the power of soccer, education, and community. The mission of Soccer Without Borders is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing underserved youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success. Soccer Without Borders Bay Area is a crucial resource to newcomer refugee and immigrant youth across Alameda and San Francisco Counties, is a leader in social inclusion and getting girls in the game, is an active participant in the Bay Area sports-based youth development community, and hosts free, intentional leagues where under resourced youth from other organizations can play. Soccer Without Borders Bay Area was formerly known as SWB Oakland. Soccer Without Borders is in no way affiliated with Doctors Without Borders. Soccer Without Borders provides free, year-round programming that meets youth where they are and aligns with the strengths and needs of their local community, and its leagues are free, local, and designed with community in mind, breaking down barriers like cost and transportation. SWB Bay Area also leads trainings for coaches to build more equitable program spaces for youth. Awards and recognition for Soccer Without Borders include the FIFA Diversity Award, Lipman Family Prize, Impact Prize, RWJF Sports Award, Collective Impact Award, 5th Global Entreps Awards, and the 2024 Open Call Award. One participant shared, “I decided to join SWB because they welcomed me like a family, these people are my motivation to keep going. There is no better place than home.”
